Instagram theme pages aren’t a rare species, tapping on the explore button, you can find an array of squares filled with action-packed content or images. Most likely, the profile that posted that piece of content is a theme page.
With $100 million you could buy
- 100k Boosted Boards
- Private Jets
- 25,000 square foot mansion
- almost anything tangible on this planet
Wow, so should you start an Instagram page hoping to reach that level?
IMGN
Well to be exact, @Daquan is owned by a media company called IMGN Media that owns a wide network of accounts.
IMGN specializes in producing and tailoring content to the Gen Z & millennial demographic ranging across the most popular social media platforms.
You can find them on Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok. With all these outlets, IMGN generates over 3B+ views/month, 40m+ followers, and maintains an 85% Millennial/Gen Z audience.
IMGN has also done collaborations with major brands such as Burger King, Microsoft, and Electronic Arts.
Warner Music Group purchased IMGN for a reported $85-$100 million dollars. Why would a media company be interested in a huge SM network?
TikTok
Over the past year, TikTok has exploded in popularity with over 800 million users, 2 billion downloads, 41% teenage demographic, and 50 million> daily users.
In addition to the ecstatic growth of this social media platform, it is no secret that TikTok “songs” have also become a major part of the TikTok brand identity.
Songs like “Mood” By 24kGoldn, or most notably, “Old Town Road” By Lil Nas X have absolutely propelled them into stardom and jump-started their careers in the music industry. From just the usage of these songs in 15-sec acts, these songs become a wildfire being heard by all these 50+ million users.
The Snowball Effect occurs.
However, you may say that this is subjective as it can apply to almost every social media platform in existence. No, you're not wrong but you’re also not right as well.
The reason why so many people flock to TikTok is because of how grateful people are with likes, follows, and shares. On platforms such as Instagram, profiles are kept clean and tidy with only the best images and the aesthetically appealing follower to following ratio.
These concepts are essentially foreign to TikTok, the only concept that applies is that if you like it, then you like it. This impulse giving of likes, follows shares, and continued watch time allows for certain pieces of content to explode to the moon, especially with the TikTok algorithm playing into the distribution as well.
What Does Social Media Really Offer?
Social media in simple terms offers an undisputable network that Warner is planning to tap into.
As we all see this as a crazy 85 million dollar deal, they see it as an investment that will someday outweigh the 85 million price tag.
They could use the audience to generate views on specified content, continue brand deals, promotions on certain content, data optimization, and basically anything you can think of that involves awareness and the cloud.
As humanity becomes more and more digital, titan accounts on different platforms will be essential to siphoning attention/views which is the overall goal when conducting any operations related to using SM.
Conclusion
Now that IMGN has been bought by Warner Music Group, people will start to realize the value of having an intricate and large following on titan platforms. Prices of these theme pages will begin to skyrocket as the demand will as well.
