The Perception of “Success”
When humans define success, the first thing that comes to mind is money. Defining success as exponential monetary growth in a certain amount of time. However, no matter what your definition of success is, we’ll just be discussing the growth of wealth.
When a person enters into the workforce or college, they are pressured to know exactly what their occupation will be, and along with it their expected salaries. Whether it be majoring in gender studies or computer science students of all backgrounds start their careers in college
In college, students make friends, attend classes, maintain a social life. However, this is also where the next generation of entrepreneurs are born. While others are out partying, these individuals are learning skills necessary for them to SUCCEED in the workforce… or is there more.
The Other Side
In the digital age, many are creating opportunities for themselves through the use of the internet. Stock market millionaires, AMZN FBA millionaires, eBay millionaires, Youtube millionaires, gurus, or whatever it may be, people are now becoming more and more wealthy by the minute. With the emergence of new markets, many others tap into the potential of the opportunity, thus creating more wealth.
This trend has also created what I call, “The WaveRider”
Along with the internet, the process of sharing information to the masses has also become 1 million times more effective than it has been in the past. This means that it is now easier than ever to develop a circle of quality audiences. People sharing their success stories online inspire many, igniting a fire within them to do better and change their lives around. But is that the case…
“The Wall”
While many may tell you that you have the capabilities to be successful, how you have to make good use of your time, hang out with the right friends, be ambitious, I believe that it just won’t happen to the majority of people even if they do these things. Though it may seem harsh, saying that you won’t be able to achieve your dreams of being filthy rich, most people just don’t have the capabilities to become the person they want to be. No matter how many Youtube videos they watch, how many drop shipping websites they start, they will never be able to reach their true dreams.
There will always be a WALL
But why are there so many people making a killing through their hustle?
“Mountain”
Below I have listed the levels of people that I see (LV.1–5)
- LV.5 — The Filthy Rich — Familiar names like Jeff Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg, Buffet (Net Worth: 1 Bil+ Quite 1 in a Billion person, probability of becoming them is close to 0%, breakthrough and dreams become true)
- LV.4 — The Ballers — Also familiar names like Michael Jordan, Gary Vee, Kevin O’ Leary, Ronaldo, Messi, Selina Williams, Actors with high statuses. (These are the people that are still filthy rich and have made a name for themselves in the world, probability of becoming one of them is also close to 0%)
- LV.3 — The Grinders — This is where the majority of successful people of the average caliber stand, examples include Instagram influencers, Youtubers, Gurus, intelligent stock traders/investors, Amazon FBA millionaires, etc. (There are a plethora of people making successful careers out of presented opportunities, grinding day and night to make their dreams come true, even though the amount of money they make pale in comparison to the filthy rich. The probability of becoming one of them is much much higher.) Usually, you’ve already had the catalyst you needed, so hopefully, you only keep going up!
- LV.2 — The WaveRider — The WaveRiders are people who have just started their paths into changing their lives around. Like an elimination match, at this point over 75% of people will be cut and advance back 1 level until they can surpass themselves. The remaining 25% advance to the next level and by really grinding efficiently, being selfless, hopefully, they can advance even further in life.
- LV.1 — The Joe — The MAJORITY of people stand here, this is the person that works a 9 to 5 job. Coming back to Netflix and chill, or go on a classic Friday date night. This is also the tier where most classic families reside.
SO THEN HOW
To reiterate, many people may fall into one category or another. Whether it be LV.1 to LV.4, people have their own paths. However, I strongly believe that everyone has a place, whether it be in any of the levels.
- Identify — What type of person are you, do you have the capabilities to execute with close to 100% succession rate. Are you the risk-taker, pacifist, all these things will determine your OWN perception of success.
- Surround — Find GOOD friends, friends that have the same desires, goals, mindset, outlook, habits, and overall cohesiveness. These people are truly what makes us, us. They are your legs holding you, the table up.
- Believe — No matter what comes your way, maybe it’s cancer, maybe it’s a layoff. Believe in yourself, push for greatness, and don’t look back.
- Live — You have a limited amount of time on this Earth, you can’t confirm when your story ends. It could now or in 30 years, you never know. So go, live, be materialistic, find things that make you happy, explore, experience, love. Do all those things that will stimulate your life and make it interesting. Don’t be dragged down by your day job or unhealthy relationship, have an outlet, and GO LIVE!
Conclusion
Success may be something intangible or something tangible, it’s all up to perspective. You may desire to be rich, poor, or comfortable. You may even desire a life that excites or a simple life.
“YOU DEFINE SUCCESS”
In the end, the equation goes like this: Success — Freedom — Happiness
